SERVICES
Within 24 hours of notice, CDR Emergency Management deployed a team of small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) pilots to Monroe County to conduct video and photographic documentation of public buildings as Ian neared the Florida Peninsula. Data collected from the project were used as a baseline for insurance claims and rebuilding efforts.
A variety of capture methods were used due to the short time window and complex airspace. sUAS were used to capture aerial video and photos as well as photogrammetric mapping of priority county properties. These included, buildings, roads, boat launches, and parks. In areas where drones were grounded due to airspace restrictions, vehicle-mounted and handheld cameras were used.
All data were uploaded on site and processed over the coming days where they were delivered to the client via a secure GIS based web portal. Data were collected so that sites can be revisited post-storm and comparative analysis can be completed between undamaged and damaged assets.
