CDR Maguire was retained by Flagler Beach, FL to assist with their recovery from Hurricane Matthew. The city of Flagler Beach owns and maintains Flagler Beach Pier, constructed in the 1920s. As well as 52 dune walkovers that exist for public access to their beaches.

The Flagler Beach Pier sustained significant damage from Hurricane Matthew. The last 160 feet of the pier washed away in the storm. CDR Maguire worked closely with the Flagler Department of Emergency Management (FDEM), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and FEMA to get engineers and construction companies procured and permitted to complete CAT B emergency protective measures. This work was imperative to public safety.

CDR Maguire is currently compiling the data for permanent repairs to the pier and each of the dune walkovers, this one CAT G project has the potential to be over 30 million dollars. CDR Maguire has been putting in a great effort to make sure that all the environmental and historical implications are considered.
