ICONIC PROJECTS SERIES: HURRICANE MICHAEL | BAY COUNTY, FLORIDA
Project:
Hurricane Michael | Disaster Recovery
Client/Owner:
Bay County, Florida
On October 10th, 2018 Hurricane Michael made landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast, near Mexico Beach, Florida, clocking in at 160 mph and becoming the first to do so in the region, as a Category 5 hurricane and as the strongest storm of the season.
The impact was devastating and the storm caused unprecedented destruction, so much so that our efforts and services to Bay County continue to this day— two years later. CDR Maguire was able to respond within 48 hours after landfall, while communications and electricity were out throughout the County, to assist leadership as they navigated FEMA’s new PA Model, utilizing the Grants Portal for the first time.
